If blue berries and red grapes are a super food, then it could be said that the acai berry is a super, super food. Dr. Nicholas Perricone — in his book the Perricone promise — tells us that the antioxidant properties of the acai berry alone place it up there with the most beneficial foods known to man. When you combine these antioxidant properties with the other nutrition and goodness that the little berry gives us, then you’re onto a winner.

The effects of antioxidants on the body are well known and well documented: it is said that the French stay alive longer than the rest of us because they drink red wine which contains — you guessed it — lots of antioxidants. The good effects of amino acids on the body are not so well documented, however, and it often surprises people how much good the amino acids in acai berry can do for us.

Amino acids are great for metabolism, and this is one of the reasons why acai is so great for people on a diet.

Amino acids are also essential as the building blocks for protein, which is essentially a long string of amino acids joined together.

The acai berry is a super food on the strength of its antioxidant properties alone: when you bring the other benefits into the equation, it is easy to see why this is a super, super food.

I find it easy to remember the first day that I decided to try Salvia. I was sat at the computer, researching the natural, legal drug, its effects and its long- and short-term effects. There was no doubt that I was very interested from the very beginning. The more I read the more I was convinced that I would have to give Sally D a try.

I was, in myself, a very confused individual. I wanted to understand more about myself spiritually, and I wanted to understand the world around me in a truly spiritual sense. I was looking for some kind of inner knowledge, some kind of insight into the things that had be confusing me for years. As I read more about Salvia I knew that this “Sage of Diviners” was the way forward for me. This was my path out of this spiritual wilderness.

That very day I sent off for a bag of Salvia and sat with anticipation. Eventually, the bag arrived, and I got to it.

Salvia was all I was hoping for and then some. This little plant has a lot to answer for! Fortunately it does have all the answers. Today I am a much more spiritually satisfied person.

Books on the subject of Salvia are few and far between. Fortunately there some pretty good ones out there.

One of the first books I picked up (and I got this straight from Amazon) is the Salvia Divinorum Grower’s Guide. The book — well, actually, it’s more of a pamphlet — is published by Spectral Mindustries and contains comprehensive, complete growing guides for everyone’s favourite visionary herb.

The book starts from the beginning, telling you how to obtain Salvia cuttings that you can start to grow the plant from. There are also source lists for seeds.

Personally I think the Salvia available over the Internet is pretty cheap as it is. I’m short on spare time, too, so I’m not going to attempt to actually grow the stuff. I did find the book an interesting read, though, and if you are intending to go down the self-grow route then this is the only way to do it.

Why not take one step back towards the natural and start growing your own produce. Vegetable patches are all the rage: why not your own Sally D stock? I’m not sure on the rules when it comes to this, but why not think about selling some on while it’s still legal?
